One of the places that you can look for free items is Craigslist.  Look also in your newspaper classifieds as you might find right what you are looking for in your local area.  My own dad gave his camper away for free, he was too old to use it and wanted someone to enjoy it.

Another really good source of finding something for free would be from a garage sale or a yard sale.  Go to sales at the end of the day.  Often the person having the sale just wanted to get rid of the items.  They don’t really want to have to bring them back into their house.  Don’t be afraid to offer to take them away for them, if they will give them to you.  The worse that can happen is that they can say no.  The best is that you might be able to get that lamp or table you were looking for and yes, you got it for Free.

Do follow the rules. Read the offer. Most offers are one per household. Make sure that you only request one free sample per offering.  Do not sign up your daughter, your son, your husband, the cat for the same offer.  This is not fair to the manufacturer who is trying to expose a large customer base to their new products.

Do share sites with your friends when you find a site that you like. Do try your free sample. If you find that you really like the product, be sure to look for it at your local store and purchase it. Companies give out samples so that you may try the product before you buy it. If you are really uncomfortable in giving out your home address, then you can protect your home identity by using a Post Office Box. You can get a box at your local Post Office or a another office that is convenient to your home. Another option would be to use one of the mailing services that offer paid boxes such as Mail Boxes, etc. The mail then comes to you and the street address of the business location, and often to a suite number, which is your Mailing Box number. This is another way to keep your home information secure.

You may enjoy having free samples right in your mail box, but remember to ask for samples of things that you really want to try or intend to use. Do not give out your address multiple of times for the same sample.
